My hunch is that Logitech will market this third thumb button as a dedicated “AI Prompt Builder” launch button. Additionally, there may be a new sensor introduced in the flagship mouse. While the MX Master 3S currently sports an 8000 DPI sensor, the upcoming model might push the boundaries further. As for the price, the MX Master 3S is currently priced at $120, but I anticipate the new model to be in a similar range.
As for the release date, it’s anyone’s guess. However, considering the detailed promotional images, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the new mouse hit the shelves before the back-to-school season in the fall.
Logitech’s MX Master series has long been considered the top choice for those not interested in gaming features. It’s been a while since the last major redesign, but word on the street is that the MX Master 4 is coming soon. Some leaked images from a regulator seem to confirm this. Apart from a slight visual update, the new mouse will feature a brand-new thumb button.
The European Union’s Intellectual Property Office recently unveiled some registered designs granted to Logitech’s Swiss division. Although the product’s name is not disclosed in the documents, it’s pretty obvious that this is the next-gen MX Master mouse. Three photos offer a peek at different angles of the device, showcasing the updated aesthetics. Notably, the thumb buttons have been revamped, with an additional button possibly catering to gamers.
