Swedish startup Flower crushes TECH5 competition – the ‘Tech Champions League’

Collaborating with customers who operate battery storage systems (such as EV fleets, home batteries, solar parks, and data centers), Flower injects power back into the grid during peak demand periods. This results in a more balanced energy supply, smoother integration of renewables, reduced reliance on fossil fuels, enhanced grid resilience, and new revenue opportunities for asset owners.

Announced at the TNW Conference in Amsterdam, Flower’s TECH5 victory propels them into the league of top European scaleups, joining esteemed winners such as Revolut, Too Good To Go, and Picnic. Standout from competitors in seven regions, Flower, headquartered in Stockholm, leverages its software platform for various energy assets, enhancing predictability and flexibility for both energy producers and consumers.

During the TNW Conference 2025, Flower earned Europe’s hottest scaleup award for introducing an innovative energy storage method to support the grid. Jildenbäck revealed that the scaleup’s efforts extend beyond grid stabilization and asset optimization, emphasizing the crucial role of battery energy storage in addressing volatility within a fossil-free energy system.

Adopting a holistic ecosystem perspective, Flower’s storage portfolio serves not only for grid stabilization but also as a catalyst for broader initiatives. Being distinguished from other participants, Flower was chosen as a standout finalist amongst competitors in regions like Benelux, the Nordics, DACH, France, Southern Europe, the Baltics, and the UK and Ireland.

Highlighting their future plans, Jildenbäck outlined Flower’s intentions to expand into six European markets and collaborate with the broader European energy and technology ecosystem to shape the energy system of tomorrow. Winning the TECH5 competition is seen as a validation of Flower’s mission and motivation for the team to continue their impactful work.
